Competitive Advantage and Organizational Performance of the Small and Medium Enterprise Sector in Takkalasi Sub-District, Barru Regency

Abstract

This research’s main objective was to investigate supply chain management’s influence on competitive advantage and organizational performance. In addition, this research examines how the influence of supply chain management on organizational performance is mediated by competitive advantage. This investigation was conducted on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) located in Takkalasi Sub-district, Barru Regency, totaling 85 MSMEs. The research data were collected by distributing questionnaires to owners or managers of SMEs in Barru Regency, registered in the MSMEs Database of the Barru Regency Cooperatives and SMEs Service in 2022. The research findings showed quite a large impact of the supply chain management on the competitive advantage and organizational performance. Additionally, it is observed that competitive advantage plays an important role in influencing organizational performance. Specifically, competitive advantage was found to mediate the relationship between supply chain management and organizational performance.
